This is pretty funny, considering Jadon NEVER took a pacifier after he was like two weeks old! Other than this very minor setback, Jadon seems to be adjusting really well to being a big brother. Yesterday, he even worked up the nerve to touch her!

Although I do think he made actual contact with her head on one or two occasions yesterday, usually when Jadon attempts to kiss Macy, it ends up being a few inches away. He is (not extremely...and not even "very") interested in her, but he kind of seems to be just tolerating the fact that she is a constant in every room he is in now. I will say that it is SUPER CUTE, when she cries and he says, "Don't cry sister. Don't cry, Macy." Or he will calmly try to "shhhsh" her or say "uh oh," when she starts to cry. Last night he also showed her one of his toy doggies, but he didn't want me to take it from his hand so she could get too close of a look at it ;)
Last night, he was a little more clingy than he has been since her arrival, and definitely more clingy than he has been in months. Because I was nursing Macy around his bedtime, he wanted to curl up on my lap too. He has this thing, when he is tired, when he wants to put his hand down anyone's shirt and put it in their armpit (this started about three months ago). I am sure, since Macy is "down my shirt" a lot now, it makes it even more necessary for him to do this. It was really sweet actually. I could tell he was struggling with sharing Mommy's attention, so I gave him as much as I could. My goodness, he looks like a giant compared to her!!! It made me sad that he's growing so fast, so I did my best to savor every minute of him last night...and he loved it too :)
Other than the things you would expect with an adjustment like this for a 20-month-old, Jadon is doing great. He is mostly interested in playing or pretend playing with Macy's accessories (i.e. pacifier, nasal syringe, and hair brush). He absolutely hates having his nose cleaned with a syringe, but he LOVES pretending like he needs his nose cleaned with Macy's. Go figure. I'm thinking we should get Macy a toothbrush and see if we can out-smart him ;) If you don't know, toddlers are not so fond of getting their teeth brushed...one of our least favorite times of the day!
