Anyone who has kids knows, as parents, we come up with some pretty ridiculous names to call our babies. My friend told me yesterday that her friend used to call her little girl "Roundie" because she was so chubby as a baby, and she STILL calls her that, and she's eight years old! We used to call Jadon "Pookie Bubs," "King of Kerchoo," and "Snip Snap." Usually those names fade away, and we come up with new ones. Papa Dom (Jamie's dad) refers to Jadon as "Bock Bock," since that was all he said on the phone to him for a while, and to this day, when he leaves a voicemail, he refers to Jamie as "Seanook," while his mom always calls him "Baby James," even though he's 33 now. Any mommy of a baby boy can understand that!
As you can imagine, there are lots of fun names to come up with for Macy Bleu. Of course, we mostly refer to her as "Bluebelle," Pork chop," "Chunka Munka," "Piddy Piddy Pincess," "Punkin Pie," and like most baby girls, we refer to her as "Princess." Jamie and I both agree that she looks like a little old lady sometimes, so if she wears a dress, he calls her Erlene, Gertrude, or some other endearing older name.
There is also another level of names for a baby, one that comes along with an entire storyline. Jamie has such a name for Macy. Although I don't really see it, he always thinks she looks like an elf, specifically a Keebler elf. He's always telling her it's time to go "bake the cookies." When she yawns, he asks her, "What's wrong, Bluebelle? Are you tired from working in the treehouse? It's hard baking cookies around all of those hot ovens, isn't it?"
When we had brownies the other night, he said she was mad that we didn't eat her cookies. Brother! He goes on and on...The other night, he was laughing and told me to come and look at her. I had NO IDEA he was blowing in her face! I thought she was startled from him whistling, so I grabbed my camera laughing at the whole thing. Here is the clip of him telling her the whistle is blowing and her shift is over at the cookie factory. You'll see that I realize half way through that he's blowing on her face. Poor Macy Bleu.
Despite the fact that he makes fun of her ;) Macy Bleu loves her daddy. In fact, she's in awe of him and hangs on his every word:
Daddy Seanook loves you, Princess Macy Bluebelle Pork Chop Chunka Munka. Just in case you get a voicemail when you're 33, and wonder why Daddy refers to you the way he does, now you'll understand ;) I imagine you'll always be his little Keebler elf :)
