And just a few side notes: (1) I am SHOCKED by the number of parents who don't watch their kids! I mean, completely avoid supervising them AT ALL! Wow! Made me revisit the idea of homeschooling for the first few years at least. Lord, have mercy! (2) I'm not so thrilled with the idea of strangers coming up and touching my kid. One of the workers ran up behind Jadon, grabbed his shoulders, shook him and made some weird monster-like, I'm-gonna-getcha kind of noise. Not cute. Not warranted. He was already scared and intimidated by the other kids and his surroundings. What tha???
I'm thinking, "What in the world are you doing, crazy girl who looks to have been smoking meth, prior to or even during your shift? Have you lost your ever-lovin', crack-pipe hittin' mind?" (Not nice, I know. I wouldn't say it to her. I smiled and asked if she was a worker. Then thought seriously about calling the fool who hired this chick. Seriously though, this is MY kid here. Weird...no, scary and crEEEEpy!) Oh yeah, and one more thing (3) I don't like watching my kid get trampled by 3- and 4-year-olds (who are WILD and really rambunctious, in a very good way). I was a good parent about it though. I know he has to learn to fend for himself at playgrounds, etc. It was tough, since he was the youngest kid there, it was his last day as a one-year-old, and since the other parents didn't seem to think they should remind their kids to "be easy around the little ones." Loved the kids...worried about the parents.
Okay, so here are some pics of the fun Jadon did have ;) I was THRILLED to watch him have fun...like as excited as I've been in a while :) Good stuff!
Not a kid to jump in the ball pit. He's more of a stand-in-one-spot and hold a ball kinda kid ;) Next time...maybe?
The slide worked out better, when he was the only kid on it.
Quite faster than the slides at the playground!
