The Waiting Game

When I was pregnant, I wrote in a journal for Jadon about my desire to know where we were going to bring him home from the hospital to. We were living at my mom's temporarily, and I was in the midst of nesting mode. I was ready to get his nursery set up for him. I remember there was a short waiting period, before it was confirmed that we had gotten this condo. I wrote to Jadon about the whole process. I wondered if his first home would be at a place called "Windsor Green" on Crab Pond Court; turned out it was.

What I wanted Jadon to learn (hopefully), if he ever reads my pregnancy journal, was how his mommy and daddy approach life issues as Christians. I wanted him to know that we go through phases of uncertainty. Sometimes those bumps in the road are bigger than others, but utimately, the lesson is that we always place our faith in Christ. All of the decisions we make in life (what job to take, whether to move or not, to whom do we give our tithes and how much) are prayerfully considered, as is our current situation.

I don't think I could be more thankful to be a potential home owner. In February, we will have a new address (maybe sooner), and we can't wait! In the last five years, we have spent approximately $35,000 in rent!!! Insane! Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful that we've had nice places to call "home," but I'm tired of moving, tired of landlords/rental companies raising rent, tired of white walls that I cannot paint warm and inviting colors, tired of paying extra money to have my cat who costs too much in the first place, and really just tired of throwing our money away!

By 5pm today, we will know if we will be living in this house:

I'm going to spare the details on the home because we may not get it. It's really okay, if we don't. I know our prayers have been heard, and that we will end up in the home that is (1) affordable, (2) going to make $ for us, when we sell it eventually, and (3) a place we feel truly "at home" in with Jadon. Above is the house we've chosen. Is it the one He has chosen for us? I have no doubt His choice will be better than ours, therefore, we leave it in His hands, where all the decisions of our lives need to always be. It's so comforting to know that He already knows where we're going to live. So no matter what happens, no anxiety, no worries. Maybe a little bit of wonder, but that's it. Will Jadon spend his first birthday playing in our yard at a place called "Avalon" on Stoney Falls Boulevard? Guess we'll know in a few hours. I'll update you, once we know something :-)
