No I'm not talking about Jadon's favorite Baby Einstein video. I'm talking about REAL first steps!!! Jadon took his firsts step on Saturday, March 22 @ around 5pm. He was five days away from being 10 months old. The good news is that Mommy, Daddy, Gramma, and Grandpa were all there to witness it :) He was going from the couch to the ottoman, and he took 1 1/2 steps...I say 1 1/2 because he stumbled on the last half of the second step and held onto the edge of the ottoman. We all clapped and yelled out, "Yay! Did you just see that? He just took his first steps!" Of course, Jadon looked at all of us like we were crazy, but that's nothing out of the ordinary ;) He hasn't taken another step since then, but I'm guessing he'll be running before we go to NYC to see Auntie Em next month.
In other news, Easter was truly a blessing yesterday. Gramma and Grandpa went with me and Jadon to church (Jamie had to work...boo!). A video of my testimony of becoming a Christian was shown, during the service. I'll try to post it later tonight to this blog. I don't have a copy yet. It made me cry, when it showed pics of me and Jamie at our wedding and of the two of us with Jadon...awe. It was very well put together by Amber Bennett, who does media arts at the church and who is also in the life group that I lead on Monday nights. She's amazing!!! She took 17 minutes of my ramblings and put it into 3 minutes and 47 seconds of amazing story. Anyway, my mom leaned over and said, "That was beautiful!" Apparently Grandpa Wally cried. I thought I heard someone sniffling in my aisle ;) He also told me that he was "very proud" of me. I didn't do anything though...it was all God :) You'll see, once I post it, but when it gets to the part when I talk about having suffered five miscarriages, but now have a beautiful 10 month old, applause could be heard throughtout the sanctuary :) That part made me have goosebumps and tears in my eyes. I'm so thankful for Jadon! and Jamie! and my family...here and in California! So, yeah, it was an amazing Easter.
After church, we went to the grocery store, and Jadon had a blast with Grandpa looking at the hundreds of birds at a pond beside the shopping plaza. Although he didn't do so well in the church nursery (I got paged about 30 minutes into the service), he was a trooper in the car both on the way to church and back home. Yay!
Once we got home, we waited for my friend Michelle and her daughter Mackenzie from Morgantown to get here. They drove all the way from WV to see us :) They'll be in town until Friday (they're at the Tanger outlets now). The plan is to take them to Charleston tomorrow, so they can take a carriage tour...yay! I'll post more, as I have time this week. We should have lots of great pics :)
Oh and P.S. I'm just making a prediction right now that my sister has met her future husband in NYC. They went to church together yesterday, then out to eat with Em's roommate, and then she met her future mother-in-law, who by the way, kissed her on the cheek :) Just like Momma Dorie did me. Cute! Welcome to the family (almost), Uncle Robert! Hahahahaha! :P

You never cease to make me smile with your blog. You are an amazing young lady Andrea. I am thankful that God placed you in my path and how much I continue to learn from you.
Well thank you, "anonymous!" I'm not convinced I'm doing much teaching on this blog...just rambling about my life. Hopefully in the near future, I can spend more time writing about more significant things. I guess becoming a parent does make poop seem significant though ;) Thanks for reading!
