My 1st Mother's Day :)

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

This pic was taken at my baby shower, just a few short weeks before I officially became a mommy. Looking back, my sister, mom and I have all changed quite a bit in just one year, huh?

Two months later, Jamie's family came to visit Jadon for the first time. What was once in my belly was now a crying, nursing, little poop machine ;)

Happy Mother's Day, Mama Dorie!

Life, as I once knew it, was gone forever, and I was now part of the strongest group of people on earth...mothers! I had no idea how much work and fun were ahead, that's for sure!
Today was another day that made me feel utterly exhausted, yet joyfully fullfilled. So what kinds of things did I do to celebrate my first official Mother's Day?

I changed diapers, made bottles, fed Jadon several small meals and several snacks, rubbed teething gel on his gums, gave him Tylenol, sang songs to him, played cars in the kitchen floor, rolled the soccer ball around the living room, put him down for a nap, sent emails to friends who are moms to tell them "Happy Mother's Day," went to the grocery store, went for a walk with Jadon and Jamie, talked to my mom and sister, talked to Jamie's mom, talked to my friend Michelle, made a flyer to advertise Elijah "FREE to good home," kissed Jadon a million times, rocked him, read books to him, tried to teach him where his belly is, jumped for joy to see Jadon doing new signs (daddy and kiss), kissed Jadon some more...oh you get the picture ;)

I was pleasantly surprised to find a handmade card (in the shape of a foot) with a gift card for a pedicure on Jadon's high chair this morning :) It reads "Cards suck, so WUB MY FEET! Happy Mummah's Day! Thanks for everything that you do, if you want. Love, Duddah." Thank you, Daddy (and Jadon too, of course)!
And I almost forgot to thank my good friend Heather Wolfe for the sweet card she sent me...

After Jadon got his bath tonight, he decided he'd return some of the kisses Mommy had been giving him all day...really he was just biting my cheeks (and any other part of my body) because he's teething terribly, but I loved them, nonetheless :)

I love you, Jadon! I cannot imagine life without being your mommy!
