Can't Keep Up

Somewhere between Christmas and today (okay on December 27th), Jadon turned 19 months old, and I totally missed it. There is no possible way I can write down all of the things he has learned to do in the last month, so here is a video collage, mainly of things that are old to those of us who see him on a daily basis, but we really want to keep our family in CA connected to Jadon as best we can via the Internet. These are for you Nanay, Tatay, Kuya Justin, Uncle Allen, Aunt Lily, Uncle Steve, and Grandma Vicky. We love and miss you all, and hope you feel you are able to keep up with our little man and know him the best you can from 2500 miles away :/



Normally Jadon will pull the correct shape out of the bucket, when we ask him for it, but he was seriously in need of independence to do it his way this time:


We forgot to do elbows and teeth, but he knows them too ;)


We're working on teaching Jadon to identify all of his family in CA, but to be honest, he was starting to get tired of us asking him to "perform" on demand...but he did identify you, Tatay! :)

A few other things he's learned to do and/or say this month: "Aaahchoo" when people sneeze; he's also doing the sign for please and help, instead of that aweful whine we used to hear 100+ times/day; we've started using time out, when he throws toys (because he thinks it's super funny...and baby Macy likely won't...yikes!); the entire month of December, he would say "Woooow!" everytime he saw Christmas lights after dark, and everytime we came home after dark, he would run to the window and look down the street at all of the lights and say, "Woooow!"; he says "toot" everytime he farts (hahahaha...cracks us up!); he has recently learned the concept of "easy" and can say it more clearly than most other words, and when he knows it's time to be quiet or go to sleep, he's learned to say, "ssshhh"; he can now stack about 4-5 small wooden blocks and balance a Matchbox car on top of each stack...who knows? It's his thing though...strange.

EVERYTIME we get in the car to go ANYWHERE, he starts saying "Gee...Grandpa...Ziggy!" He repeats this over and over and over in the form of a question, and you have to repeat each one after he says it...poor guy misses his "Gee" throughout the week! He's working on saying "Emily." Right now it sounds more like "Eddah." Jamie thought he was saying "Cheddar" for while ;) Jadon is not such a fan of drawing just yet. He has more interest in regular crayons than toddler (egg-shaped) crayons. This is something we plan to work on more this month to help develop his fine motor skills even more...coloring was one of my very favorite things to do as a kid, and I really hope Jadon can at least learn to have some interest in it, so we can spend time doing it together, when he gets older. For now,my favorite thing to hear him say is"Momma"...makes me smile EVERYTIME :) Although momomomom was his first word, and he used to say it when he was a baby, he started to refer to both me and Jamie as "Dada" for a while. Gramma wasn't having it, and thanks to her diligent efforts, he's back on track, and cuter than ever. Momma loves you, Jadon!
