This Past Week...

...we said goodbye to our relatives, Dave & Linda (Linda is my maternal Grandma's cousin), by going out to eat at Sticky Fingers :) Yummy! Yaya and Uncle Dave were able to join us too ;) Jadon ate pre-prepared sweet peas with tofu and some apples with sweet potatoes. He was a trooper, sitting in a restaurant high chair for the second time ever. He must not have been satisfied with his baby food because he just couldn't get enough of the corn muffins at the table. I even had to ask the waitress to bring us another because he started to cry, when the first serving was all gone.
We spent the first night in our new house on Thursday :) We didn't really have much here, but we were able to set up a bed in the spare room, since we were still in the process of painting the master bedroom. I woke up Friday, took a shower and started to get ready to head to Lowes for some more supplies, only to realize I didn't have a hair dryer here.

Now it's Tuesday, and we have almost everything here. The only things left to get are my excess clothes and all of the lotions, etc. out of the master bath, then we're DONE!!! Yay! Jan has already rented the condo, so we just have to finish cleaning today, and the new tenants will move in tomorrow. It seems like it's taken us forever to get everything settled. The small details will take even longer, and will cause my mind to feel unsettled for a while, I'm sure. I still have plans for both bathrooms and need to pick up little odds and ends for the bedrooms.

Grandpa Wally finished the pressed tin backsplash in our kitchen yesterday (and it looks WONDERFUL!), while Jamie and I finished painting the master bath. Thankfully, Gramma watched Jadon in the other room and was even able to put him to sleep without me :) Double yay! Next Grandpa will help us finish Jadon's room, before he heads back out to Iraq. Hopefully he won't be stuck there for two weeks. Thanks for your help, Wally!!! And thanks for watching Jadon, Gramma!!! We couldn't have done all of this without you two! Did I mention that they helped us move all of the furniture on Thursday???

Jadon doesn't seem to mind one bit that he doesn't have a finished room to sleep in or the fact that the house in not completely set up. He's very much enjoying the mirror that has yet to be hung and is propped up against the living room wall. He's not been able to see himself at that angle in the past. We've caught him talking to the baby in the mirror several times this week...and kissing the other baby too :) The camera wouldn't work fast enough, when he was at his best, but I was able to catch a few seconds of it. Once he caught me, however, he started crying...caught that on camera too (second clip below)...notice how he likes the sound of his own voice now :)

Jadon started a few new things this week. He's now fascinated by hats...both daddy's and Grandpa Wally's :) He's saying Mommommom nearly everytime he wants to take a nap or eat, and he started a few new foods. Soy cheese and crackers are his new favorite snack! He ate an entire piece the first time! He also ate beans for the first time yesterday, so he can get some extra protein (and mommy gets extra diaper changes) ;) A chicken nugget and hot dog eater he will not be! Just trying to give his arteries a good start in life, ya know? When he's a teenager, he'll do enough damage with pizza and burgers, right?

Jadon's been cruising from one piece of furniture to another. He likes practicing on his walking toy too. It won't be long, before he's walking!!! I can't imagine! Poor Elijah :/ Jadon already chases him around the living room on all fours...just wait til he can run...look out kitty! He also took a bath in his new bath tub. Although he still would prefer us to bathe him, while he's on his back, it's time to transition to the big boy tub ;) He really likes the toys that came with it. I can see a soaking wet bathroom floor in the very near future!
