Jadon turned 13 months old on Friday, although both Jamie and I actually overlooked the fact that it was the 27th. That will happen, when you have a toddler. You tend to forget both the day of the week and the day of the month. We had an amazing night with Jadon, nonetheless :) We went to Market Common (our favorite FREE place to go) to see the Friday night band in the park.
As soon as we got there, we crossed the street to find a mama duck and her babies...awe! For the first time in my life, I related to a duck on a very serious level...the concern on her face as she waddled around after FIVE little babies who were, quite honestly, clueless about their surroundings. I could see the mental anguish in her eyes, as they approached the road. She looked a bit frazzled, just as I'm sure I did, as Jadon kept trying to take off running down the bank to the water, literally clueless that he would be hurt. Ah the joys of motherhood :) We really did have a great time watching Jadon laugh at the ducklings, point at the birds, throw grass, attempt to eat leaves, and run all over the park.

Gramma and Grandpa had to stop by to see the little monster, before they made their way to NYC for the weekend to pick up Auntie Em's stuff. They didn't think they could make it thru the weekend without kissing him a few times, and Grandpa had to buy Jadon a few new trucks for him to play with, which he loved rolling on the sidewalk, saying "Vroooooom" the entire time ;)After they left, we walked around the park with Aunt Chelle and Kenzie (my friend from Morgantown and her daughter who just moved here). Jadon enjoyed the running around in the grass and playing at the playground...they have the most awesome swings there for babies! We topped the night off by getting some ice cream from Coldstone. Jadon would throw a small tantrum, if we weren't fast enough to give him his next bite. I remember on his first birthday, we had to almost force him to try cake and ice cream. My what a difference one month makes!

A few other things worth noting from this week: you will rarely find Jadon without beads of sweat on his nose (mostly in his car seat, at nap/bedtime and anytime he is outside), his scalp is usually shiny too, followed by soaking wet hair...he's such a sweater!!!Then there are his diapers (you can stop reading now, if you have a weak stomach)! Man, pregnancy and Jadon's diapers DO NOT go together! Let's just say that I put smooshed up blueberries in his mouth, but whole blueberries come out!?! How does that happen??? Grandpa says he's an alien. I USED to like these organic hot pocket type things that have vegetables in it. Now I cannot stand the sight of them...not even the package! Whole potatoes, carrots and peas...AND blueberries at 7am! Are you kidding me??? BIG, HUGE, yucky faces...ewwww! I almost skipped church this morning because Jadon hadn't pooped yet, and there was NO WAY I would expose anyone not related to him to these diapers. Thankfully he delivered the goods, before it was time to leave ;) Potty training, before baby #2 arrives, is a must!
